I have 7 game controllers attached, but the game only allows me to choose from (presumably) the first four it encounters when it enumerates the list of available controllers.
My flight stick, rudder pedals and throttle are apparently at the wrong end of that list and as a result are not made available for mapping in-game.

My Thrustmaster T-Flight Hotus X V2 (T.Flight Hotus PS3) is not recognised in game.
All the drivers are up to date and it is recognised in windows. The joystick also works fine and is recognised on other games such as Elite Dangerous.

What were you doing when the bug occurred? Step by Step detail is helpful. In control options there is only "Joystick 1" and "Joystick 2" Rudder pedals do not show up at all and there is no way to bind the yaw axis to the rudder pedals. Input is not recognized from the pedals. Unplugging other controls does not help and the rudder pedals still don't show up.
Where did this issue occur? Please include menu name or in game location. In the control options menu and key mapping menu.

How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
How severe is your issue? Can play, but it's highly frustrating
What happens when the bug occurs? No yaw controls unless mapped to a button (highly inconvinient)
What do you expect to see? Rudder pedals that are recognized and work properly
Which ship were you playing? If not applicable, just answer "no" or "none." none
What components were you using? Saitek rudder pedals, Thrustmaster Warthog throttle and stick.
Which customizations (if any) were you using? noneā
I've tried numerous things to try and get them to show up and nothing works. Unplugging other controls doesn't work, and the pedals work fine in other sims. Not being able to use yaw is extremely frustrating and I'm not really going to be using buttons to yaw.

I'm running Saitek Pro Rudder Pedals and I can get the game to see the controller but it doesn't know how to deal with the Axis. In other words. If I assign left Yaw Axis to my Rudder Axis you can't assign the same Axis to Right Yaw. You can only get one direction to work. The game doesn't understand the axis is for both directions. For now, I have assigned my Toe Brake Axis to left and right but it's not ideal. I think EA is going to have to look at the way the game sees DX Axis. Hope they fix it.

It seems the game also only recognizes the twist to the right (rotation - ).
(rotation +) does not get detected at all.

After so much chatter that HOTAS would work. You would think that the one pure flying game released would have access to HOTAS use. Yet we have to remap everything to mimic a game pad and the dead zones are awful. On TOP of having a brand new HOTAS it doesnt even recognized the throttle control. What the hell EA. Reading from other forums such as reddit many people like myself have already refunded the game. HUGE disappointment.

You could try going here
Documents\STAR WARS Squadrons Steam\settings
find "ProfileOptions_profile_synced"
there more options in there than what is in the game, like all 4 Joystick Device inputs.
I'm sure you could mainly type in each the device as well as further tweak the deadzones beyond what is in the game.
GstInput.JoystickDevice1
GstInput.JoystickDevice2
GstInput.JoystickDevice3
GstInput.JoystickDevice4
GstInput.JoystickPitchDeadzone 0.000000
GstInput.JoystickPitchSensitivity 0.500000
GstInput.JoystickRollDeadzone 0.000000
GstInput.JoystickRollSensitivity 0.500000
GstInput.JoystickThrottleDeadzone 0.000000
GstInput.JoystickThrottleSensitivity 0.500000
GstInput.JoystickYawDeadzone 0.000000
GstInput.JoystickYawSensitivity 0.500000- 5 years ago
I have almost no issues with my 20 year old MSFFB2. Not so much with a more recent X52 Pro. Rudder pedals are also responding just fine and Iām using them for yaw control and getting very precise kills.

I have 6 devices plugged into my PC (input controllers and button boxes) that are always on so as to not screw up the USB device order which in turn makes configuring some of them no possible in this game.

Hello.
My Virpil WarBRD stick and Logitech pedals show up fine, but my Virpil throttle doesn't show up in the game, but it works fine with all my other games, but not in Squadrons.
What gives?
Same... Only my right stick and pedals are showing up as inputs.. I need 3 inputs... Right Stick, Pedals, and Throttle...
Virpil MongoosT-50 Throttle.

Same here! Mongoose throttle not recognized.
Throttle is working fine, other software and games recognize it.
I have a complete Virpil Setup, so that means joystick, throttle and pedals.
My throttle and my grip are recognized properly, but my pedals aren't. Which is a shame, because all the other flight sims I play recognizes them and I would really like to use them as a roll device.
Is the game limited to 2 flightstick devices at the same time? Or is there a way to force the game to see my rudder pedals?
Are you using the newer Virpil throttle, or the original Mongoose?
I can get my Warbrd stick and VKB peddles recognized, but not my throttle.
- 5 years ago@NascentSelitos I have the original mongoose and it's detected correctly.
Have you checked your steam controller config? I noticed Steam also doesn't detect my pedals itself, but other games like IL-2 and DCS detects them no problems.
I feel like the devs went lazy with their coding for Hotas setups and just went "if steam doesn't detect it, it doesn't exist".

Got my TM Warthog working but the rudder paddles are not recognized in-game.
The Steam-controller-untick-generic trick didn't work. Strange enough the paddles show up in Steam in that controller section but not my Warthog. Tried the unplug other controller trick to no avail.
The stick, throttle and paddles work in every other game. Can't think of anything else to try out.

If anyone is interested, i've fixed it using Vjoy and and Joystick Gremlin.
The game detected the Vjoy input so i could assign an axis to it. In this case my rudder pedals.
First install Vjoy: i didn't do anything here particular.
Then installed Joystick Gremlin(JG): it detected all my peripherals, didn't do anything special here.
Hit the activate button(the controller pad icon in JG, booted up the game and the Vjoy got detected. Now i could assign my yaw to that axis and it worked.
Now fix that bloody deadzone issue!
Hope this helps for everybody who's having the same issues i had.
Cheers!

It's not just a Virpil problem i have the same problem with MFG Crosswinds and Thrustmaster

Everything in game seems to be fine other than squadrons does not recognize the x52. I can currently use it in other games (ms flight sim, elite dangerous) and I've updated drivers for it but nothing seems to get it to recognize within squadrons itself. I've tried remapping controls manually but it doesn't accept any input for trigger/hate/whatever.
Is this a known issue or do I need to do something specific to get it functional? Really sad as Mouse and KB for flight sims just sucks horribly.

I would like to second this. I am using the Saitek x52 and have noticed many issues.
- Major dead zones in pitch-up/down and roll right/left. It seems that yaw is fine.
- Button mapping is horrendous, I have to scroll through a page with arbitrary numbers rather than selecting on a diagram where I would like functions to be mapped. Why can I not select my model of HOTAS?
- Randomly my button 6 is not registering, that was my countermeasures.
- The list of functions has no description so I have no idea what missles are and where to map.
I am seriously disappointed that I might not be able to use my HOTAS and instead will have to suffice with a keyboard and mouse. Flying is damn near impossible to control with the joystick's dead zones.

Logitech X52 not shown at bottom of controls menu like it should. I have tried to turn off steam auto use xbox controller and still not working. I can't map anything. Any trick getting this game to detect this HOTAS?

I have the same stick and was able to get it working. Firstly I plugged only the stick in, made sure everything was installed on driver end before plugging in throttle. Throttle didnt work so I exited the game and unplugged the USB. Plugged back USB and started game then my stick was working. Hopefully that helps I made sure to use the controller debug to ensure all inputs were detected.
- 5 years ago@PunishedJoJo didnt get to work for me, my pxn-2113 does not have the the throttle, its the cheaper one
