I have 7 game controllers attached, but the game only allows me to choose from (presumably) the first four it encounters when it enumerates the list of available controllers.
My flight stick, rudder pedals and throttle are apparently at the wrong end of that list and as a result are not made available for mapping in-game.
I have a complete Virpil Setup, so that means joystick, throttle and pedals.
My throttle and my grip are recognized properly, but my pedals aren't. Which is a shame, because all the other flight sims I play recognizes them and I would really like to use them as a roll device.
Is the game limited to 2 flightstick devices at the same time? Or is there a way to force the game to see my rudder pedals?

Are you using the newer Virpil throttle, or the original Mongoose?
I can get my Warbrd stick and VKB peddles recognized, but not my throttle.
- 5 years ago@NascentSelitos I have the original mongoose and it's detected correctly.
Have you checked your steam controller config? I noticed Steam also doesn't detect my pedals itself, but other games like IL-2 and DCS detects them no problems.
I feel like the devs went lazy with their coding for Hotas setups and just went "if steam doesn't detect it, it doesn't exist".- 5 years ago
@Sybreed_5I'm using the Origin version, so hopefully Steam wouldn't interfere.
I'll fiddle with those settings, and double check my drivers....

Got my TM Warthog working but the rudder paddles are not recognized in-game.
The Steam-controller-untick-generic trick didn't work. Strange enough the paddles show up in Steam in that controller section but not my Warthog. Tried the unplug other controller trick to no avail.
The stick, throttle and paddles work in every other game. Can't think of anything else to try out.

If anyone is interested, i've fixed it using Vjoy and and Joystick Gremlin.
The game detected the Vjoy input so i could assign an axis to it. In this case my rudder pedals.
First install Vjoy: i didn't do anything here particular.
Then installed Joystick Gremlin(JG): it detected all my peripherals, didn't do anything special here.
Hit the activate button(the controller pad icon in JG, booted up the game and the Vjoy got detected. Now i could assign my yaw to that axis and it worked.
Now fix that bloody deadzone issue!
Hope this helps for everybody who's having the same issues i had.
Cheers!
- 5 years ago@Scar_Wardjinn I did this. Thanks for the tip! However after using this to get the rudder recognized, I'm finding that some of my joystick buttons are no longer recognized in game - only 3 of 4 hat switch directions are recognized, for example. Have you seen anything similar to this when troubleshooting your rudder issues?

It's not just a Virpil problem i have the same problem with MFG Crosswinds and Thrustmaster
- 5 years ago
I think you can have up to 3 controlles plugged in, so just replug the usb and throw out the xbox one you have forgot on.
Bigged problem is, that cant bind yaw to pedals.. can only bind the pedals to yaw right or left.. not as an two-way axis. Fix please!

If I understand you correctly (Docharmless), I had the same issue. You can't press either pedal to yaw, because the game doesn't recognise the pedal press (for me, the right-side pedal)? It will only accept the pedal twist around the centre i.e. sliding either foot forward/back?
If that's the case, I fixed mine, bizarrely, by recalibrating in Windows "game controllers" for my Thrustmaster pedals, and then redefining in-game caused it to recognise the right/left pedal press correctly - then they worked fine.
