I have 7 game controllers attached, but the game only allows me to choose from (presumably) the first four it encounters when it enumerates the list of available controllers.
My flight stick, rudder pedals and throttle are apparently at the wrong end of that list and as a result are not made available for mapping in-game.
Everything in game seems to be fine other than squadrons does not recognize the x52. I can currently use it in other games (ms flight sim, elite dangerous) and I've updated drivers for it but nothing seems to get it to recognize within squadrons itself. I've tried remapping controls manually but it doesn't accept any input for trigger/hate/whatever.
Is this a known issue or do I need to do something specific to get it functional? Really sad as Mouse and KB for flight sims just sucks horribly.

I would like to second this. I am using the Saitek x52 and have noticed many issues.
- Major dead zones in pitch-up/down and roll right/left. It seems that yaw is fine.
- Button mapping is horrendous, I have to scroll through a page with arbitrary numbers rather than selecting on a diagram where I would like functions to be mapped. Why can I not select my model of HOTAS?
- Randomly my button 6 is not registering, that was my countermeasures.
- The list of functions has no description so I have no idea what missles are and where to map.
I am seriously disappointed that I might not be able to use my HOTAS and instead will have to suffice with a keyboard and mouse. Flying is damn near impossible to control with the joystick's dead zones.
