GameStop and other stores cannot legally give you a product that has not been released yet. If you pre-order the game with one of these stores, Origin has no way of knowing that you have the game paid for and pre-ordered without a code, however GameStop can't give you a code to input into Origin until the game is released. It's a terrible little circle of legal matters.
If you would really like to pre-load the game, you can always cancel the GameStop order and put in a pre-order with Origin, instead. - EA_David10 years ago

@goldsounds Another option is if you have a friend nearby with a preload and a large memory stick, you can copy the files from his pre-order to your own. Drop the Battlefront folder into Origin Games then when you get your code Origin should detect the pre-order data and install with minimal downloading.
