How severe is your issue? Can play, but it's highly frustrating
What happens when the bug occurs? I am using a Joystick on PC (EXTREME 3D PRO). When turning (at half-speed or any reasonable speed), I end up over-steering by a significant amount (difficult or impossible to turn 180 degrees at half speed to face a target and shoot it because I'll end up going 250 degrees or something like that unless I pre-emptively turn the opposite direction when at like 140 degrees or so). I feel like the amount of over-steering that occurs is much greater than other flight games.
What do you expect to see? I would have expected that in a TIE interceptor with a Microthrust engine that I could quickly turn around at a (static) target 180 degrees from me at half-speed and be able to quickly stop turning and be able to go forwards directly at the target without needing to pre-emptively turn the opposite direction significantly in order to bring the ship to face the target without too much over-steering. In other words, I would have expected that the Interceptor could stop turning very shortly after the stick goes into the neutral position as opposed to the over-steering. The issue persists when the dead zone is adjusted. The large over-steering causes me to want to shift all power to weapons so I can turn more slowly and not oversteer...but this is a hack I think...It should be that the quickest way to turn 180 degrees and be lined up with a target is by turning at half-speed and then stop turning when lined up. I could see some over-steering being an issue in a bomber...but there should only be minimal oversteering with the TIE Interceptor with Microthrust engines.
Which ship were you playing? If not applicable, just answer "no" or "none." TIE Interceptor
What components were you using? Microthrust Engines.
Which customizations (if any) were you using? None.
Please let me know:
1) if you can reproduce the over-steering I describe using a PC joystick (not necessarily full on HOTAS)
2) if other devices such as X box controller also experience the same level of over-steering
3) if you can reduce the over-steering I'm experiencing by at least some amount through a game update.
4) if you can give advice on how to turn 180 degrees towards a static target and be lined up and steady towards the target the quickest
Thanks!
