Closing this thread as this issue was from the beta and not the full release of the game.
@mistresssquid i recommend you make a new thread with your details on it. Also a simple repair game can fix issues like this as well. If you do make a new thread please post your full PC specs as well and any other relevant information to help us help you...
Some of you might be having the same problem I am. Very early in startup, the game tries to use a pmovsxwd instruction, which is SSE4. My cpu only has up to SSE3 so it dies with an invalid instruction. No real workaround for it other than buying a new cpu, or getting someone to make us a build without SSE4.
Post posted machine is below the min specs, sorry.
@-MUP-VonSpaky It doesn't appear to affect everyone without SP1, but it is a factor in a lot of cases. That your machine can't even update would indicate a different issue with your OS install, perhaps you want to consider running the SFC
@Demoncaron1 Please ensure that your machine is using your main 770m GPU and not the onboard intel 4600 chipset.

Hey, taking a quick look at some of the dxdiags, some notable things stick out.

David thanks for the reply.
Tried running the SFC but was unable to complete on desktop. Restarted the scan in safe mode which completed with some files being repaired and some not. However, this has now enabled me to be able to install SP1 which I am currently doing. Will let you know the outcome...
