[PC] Black screen issue information hunt

    Closing this thread as this issue was from the beta and not the full release of the game.

    @mistresssquid i recommend you make a new thread with your details on it. Also a simple repair game can fix issues like this as well. If you do make a new thread please post your full PC specs as well and any other relevant information to help us help you...

    Thanks for the workarounds regarding audio issues. Could everyone please check if it helps to fix the problem aka tell us if turning down the audio quality was NOT able to solve the problem:

    Go to Windows Control Panel > Sound > Select Playback Device > Properties > Advanced

    Go to Advanced and turn down your sound quality to 16bit, 88200 Hz (Studio Quality)

    Edit: Please keep in mind that depending on your system hardware, it might be recommend to set the audio quality even lower (down to CD quality or lower Hz rates).

      So I seem to be having issues no one else has said or mentioned. It is the black screen on game startup, however after that I am completely unable to use my computer. Alt+Tab does nothing Ctrl+Alt+Del doesn't even come up and I've sat waiting for it several times with no response and I would have to MANUAL restart. Now, with this in mind I have also played the game...Several times throughout the past two days I've tried literally everything:

      Updated graphics to newest driver

      Reinstalled Origin and even the game itself

      /sfc scannow

      I have updated windows completely to SP1 and every update I can

      I have even done the most recent audio changes: I use a Logitech G35 and went to the lowest quality and even unplugged the headset and just used my Logitech speakers I have plugged into my Realtek HD Audio.

      And read through this discussion and multiple others trying every last little thing.

      However, if you're wondering why I just didn't continue playing the game while I could I will go into detail. 

      The first several times I was actually able to enter the game I'd get past "Press Enter" and be able to choose which game type and everything. I then instinctively went to mess with my video settings before launching into this gorgeous game. I tried two separate times and both times I clicked the "Video Settings" button the game went back to a blackscreen and I would have to manual restart. 

      I have actually completed the Survival Mission on two separate occasions with lag similar to what my friends, who are able to play, described. I have tried a couple times to play both multiplayer maps after I realized I can't press "Video Settings" and just tried to deal with the lag if there was any. But I then got "Unable to join any sessions" or something along those lines. The game itself never crashed and I have never received a crash error or anything it just switches between a full blackscreen to partial blackscreen and back and forth until it stays fullscreen. And the whole while it's doing this I am unable to Alt+Tab or Ctrl+Alt+Del.

      Hopefully its something easily fixed that I have missed and hopefully you guys figure something out. Thanks ahead of time.

        @XenonpandaThat's interesting, I'd have seen that CPU as below spec(not on power, but related to some tech the game uses) However it's interesting that you could complete a survival mission. 

        You could try deleting your settings files and let the game recreate them fresh, perhaps this will replicate the conditions when things ran for you?

        They are located at My Documents\STAR WARS Battlefront Beta\settings and as ever be sure to make a backup first.

        Also it's worth shutting down any 3rd party programs, in case they are interfering. I recommend a Clean Boot: http://help.ea.com/in/article/how-to-clean-boot-your-pc/

      Attempted this, did not work.
