I bought my son the new star wars game, a download. Had to use the purchasing email to download (mine) on to the xbox so he had to set up a 2nd game tag to play on the same xbox. So frustrating. Now ...
I dont believe this is an issue with the game, rather with xbox profiling.
Do you pay for xbox live?
Is the console set as your Home Console for the account with xbox live?
Does his account have restrictions applied to it? Some restrictions disable online play for certain game.
Dig into those questions. The answers to them should be Yes, Yes, No. If that's the case it may be a game issue.
