I was referring to others here and also those in a similar thread. But also you, to be honest (at least when it comes to this particular issue).
It's not even up for debate that Squadrons mouse and keyboard controls are very terrible. The mouse controls should have been at the very LEAST as playable as Battlefront 2.
Also I think people undervalue how good the wealth of keybinds that you get from the keyboard are. I have my speed settings bound so my throttle control is instantaneous and always precise, takes a lot of practice and physical effort to achieve similar results with a hands on throttle.
The fine aiming that M/KB has will always trump HOTAS once a pilot is practiced with it, this is something that has been well established in Elite's PvP community.
- 5 years agoHey peoples, I'm not on PC but is it possible you PC players can plug in an Xbox controller and use that instead? Even if you don't have an Xbox, the controllers are cheaper to buy than most MnK cost. Might just be the easiest and cheapest way to get around the problem

Oh yes, that's a perfect solution... If you can't fix it, join them. By that same logic, if a hotas player think mouse is OP, then they can use hotas in single player and then use mouse in MP. Why force yourself to use an inferior input control? For immersion? It's not much fun if you think "I wouldn't have missed that shot without a mouse", even if everyone is forced to use gimped controls.
REMEMBER, THIS IS NOT A FLIGHT SIM.
Please stop using only elite dangerous as an example of how flight controls should be with mouse and keyboard. Three are tons of popular games, some very successful, that do it better then squadrons.
Please stop ignoring the fact that EA could simply put m/kB players in games with only each other.
Please stop ignoring the fact that to balance "OP" mouse controls they could simply add a bit more aim assist to controllers and hotas.

If you are asking for a m+k system like in War Thunder, where the ship follows the mouse coursor then its a big No! This would make every other input useless. This game has been designed for controler and HOTAS input. If you don't like it, go play War Thunder or whatever floats your boat.
