Here’s a workaround:

1.  Turn PS4 on with DS4. 
2.  Turn on HOTAS controller, assign to user when prompted. 
3.  Turn off DS4. 
4.  Launch Squadrons.  

this worked for me, played 4 hours of VR Squadrons with no interruption.  (From kids or DS4 either😃)

@The Latman Absolutely. I just use the controller to turn the PS4 on and hit the ps-button to turn it off immediately. Then I log on using the HOTAS.
However - it is convenient to use the DS to navigate sometimes, so I look forward to a fix.
