@SithScorp That wouldn't surprise me if it was a move from GameStop to motivate players to purchase on console rather than pc. They are after all known for having shady business practices.
Though if you buy digital you are better off buying online directly on Origin, Steam, Epic or whichever your launcher is or just avoid GameStop all together.
