PS4: You have lost connection to PlayStation Network

I keep receiving the "You have lost connection to Playstation(TM) Network, online features will be unavailable" error whenever I try to join online games. I have tried multiple game types, and still ...

This is the exact issue I'm having on the PC side. Error message wording slightly different "You have been disconnected from the game server, please try again." And yes, out of hundreds of attempts I made it in once since I purchased the game, was lucky to squeeze out about an hour of multiplayer.
