Quick Look doesn't allow for diagonal or non-cardinal directions.

Product: Star Wars: Squadrons
Platform:Steam-PC
Please specify your platform model. PC
What is your gamertag/PSN ID/EA Account name? Elphaba
Are you playing in VR? No
Which part of the game is the issue happening in? Other
Please explain 'Other' ALL Flight modes
What were you doing when the bug occurred? Step by Step detail is helpful. using a 'mini' joystick on my throttle to control 'quick look' - which you are forcing me to use because you won't / haven't yet included TrackIR support
Where did this issue occur? Please include menu name or in game location. Every time you pick a direction that isn't a cardinal i.e. left, right, up and down) then it won't 'look' in that direction
When did this happen? (dd.mm.yy hh:mm) 10.11.2020 16:40
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
How severe is your issue? Can play, but it's highly frustrating
What happens when the bug occurs? Quick Look will only respond to cardinal axis inputs - you can't look anywhere other than left, right, up and down.
What do you expect to see? With a 'thumbstick' mini joystick or even an 8-way hat, the Quick Look should allow you to view in every direction the joystick points, not just up, down, left and right.
Which ship were you playing? If not applicable, just answer "no" or "none." All
What components were you using? None.
Which customizations (if any) were you using? None.

  • Agreed!  I wish quick look controlled the same as free look but still automatically snapped back to the center when you let go of the hat or joystick.

Ideally Quick Look would operate the same way as quick look in Rogue Squadron 2: Rogue Leader for the Gamecube.  There you can control how far you're looking based on joystick sensitivity like Free Look, and you can look all around, not just up, down, left, right.  However when you stop touching the joystick the camera immediately defaults back to the center view.

However if nothing else the ability to look diagonal would suffice.
