Re: Battlefront Audio Stuttering issue

I'm also experiencing this issue. Asus Xonar STX. Additional note: in-game it sounds much the same but listening carefully it sounds like the game engine is playing sounds MUCH faster than they're intended to be, this causes the stutter. Kind of like holding fast forward in your media player. Not sure what's going on.

Win10

Xonar STX (@192KHz, HiFi mode)

Windows audio settings: 24 bit, 192KHz

  • Same issue here, had it in beta and still have it in release.  Sound cutting in and out in cut scenes and game menus with a crackling popping sound.

No Sound Blaster card here though.

@WTFxxPrYzM Could you provide a video to show an example of it? Also try different hardware like your headphones or speakers to rule out a hardware defect.

  • Does it with speakers and headphones, all other games work flawlessly. I will try the reduction in audio quality as others have suggested.. If this fails I will post a video and more detailed system and driver specifications

Try changing these settings on windows as well, i am using 7.1 headphones with an external program so the settings may appear different to you.

    Greetings,

Myself and some other users are also experiencing a similar issue as what's being reported here: https://www.reddit.com/r/StarWarsBattlefront/comments/3t4ary/light_constant_audio_popping/

I'm running the game using Sennheiser PC-363Ds with virtual 7.1 sound. I experienced this crackling/popping audio during beta and it's still present at release. Specs are as follows:

  • I also noticed the clicking / popping in a lot of Youtube Videos and Twitch streams, just yesterday in AngryJoe's Twitch stream and even on Xbox One when all those Early Access Videos showed up. Of course i can't be 100% sure if that isn't a recording issue on their end, but it sounded very familiar and i'd be surprised if it wasn't the same issue.

FYI to others, manually messing around with my audio settings in Sound>(Find Headset, Right Click, Properties)>Advanced Tab does seem to have fixed most of the problem for me. However, in my case I went -up- from 41 to 48hz, not in the reverse order like others in this thread did. Mind you, I still have some audio crackling here and there, but it's not as bad as it was and, most importantly, the constant popping is gone now.

I would recommend to anyone having this issue to tinker with these settings ^^^^ and see if that helps until this is presumably patched.

  • I'm experiencing the same issue: the audio sometimes stutters, but the most recurrent problem is the sound effects going off completely on almost every map load. The only sounds remaining are those of the buttons on the menus. I don't want to relaunch the game everytime the map has to change, and the sound and music are a very important feature of this game. This happens on every mode and I did not have this problem during beta.

I've tried every solution on this thread, tinkered with all the audio qualities and playback options on windows, to no avail. It's very frustrating and more than a reason for a refund.
