Re: Cannot "request resupply" in Mission 1

@jmonty42 I found that some of the buttons the game expects on my joystick do not exist (not surprising as it's quite a basic one).
Moving the mouse while the game is indicating a joystick action reveals the keyboard option.
Most of the time when I already know the keyboard button to press I can just use that, but sometimes the game ignores the keyboard until I move the mouse to reveal the keyboard option.
Moving the mouse forward and back seems to be most effective.
Hope this helps.

  • Moving the mouse around didn't do anything for me, but I finally found what binding in the control settings corresponds to "request resupply". You need to bind something to the "Comms Wheel" command under the flight controls.

I ran into the same problem in a later mission for the "Targeting wheel".

It's still a pretty bad bug because it causes you to force quit the application. There's two ways this can be improved:

    1. If during the story mode an action needs to be performed and there is no binding for it in the controls, the game should prompt the player to bind something to it then. There should be a confirmation if the player chooses a key or button that is currently bound to a conflicting command.

    2. The game should always allow the alternate keyboard binding to be used. In my case I was using VR and flight sticks and when I pushed "6" on my keyboard, I could see the comms icons appear next to my squadron's nameplates, but nothing happened. This should be fixed.

@jmonty42 I don't have that many buttons on my Joystick to play around with 🙂
As far as I am concerned, one should always be able to just use the keyboard, even if there is a controller binding as well.
If I understand you correctly, you have at least two controllers. It sounds as if the Comms Wheel and Targetting Wheel fell through the default mappings.
Maybe the game should have an option to test the controls before you get into a scrap. That way it would also be able to stop telling me to press button 11 or 12 on my Joystick, which only has 4 buttons and has a throttle lever giving Z+/-. (I would have bought a better Joystick, but options were very limited at the time).
