I THINK you need to be connected via Origin, but it is a totally offline game. So you'll need an internet connection to start JFO, but your connection speed won't matter past download. Also, it does save your game to the "cloud" but you can disable that within Origin itself. Have fun, it's way prettier than Battlefront II.
