Re: Fallen Order - Import save game from PS4

I finally found a solution. It only works as long as there is no save for the PS5 version.

@prelestan, oh that's awesome, I am happy to hear that you've found a solution! May I ask how you got to know this?

@prelestan, gotcha. Alright, I'm very happy to hear either way that it's working now. 🙂
  • Hi EA_Leeuw and preslestan,

I am in the same boat as preslestan was:

I completed Fallen Order on my PS4 last week and had started on the New Journey+ .  I was playing the New Journey+ on my PS4 Pro for the last week, and then I purchased a PS5 today.  On the PS5 I downloaded the PS5 version of Fallen Order and I downloaded the PS4 fallen order saved content from my cloud drive.  But, when I started the PS5 version, it would only let me start a new journey.  So I did, and I played a couple of hours, to see the difference.   It's much faster and I notice some graphics enhancements too.

However, I hadn't re-downloaded the PS4 version of Fallen order yet onto my PS5.

Then I discovered, from these posts that we needed to download the PS4 version, import our saved data and then we should see "import PS4 System Save Data"?  Except, like preslestan, I never see this option when I start the PS5 version, even though I now have both versions on my PS4 and I've downloaded the saved data from the cloud drive.

Do I need to somehow remove my PS5 version of the journey so that I can import the PS4 data?

I don't want to delete the PS5 fallen order game I just started, in case this doesn't work.  Can I just export the saved PS5 data file, then delete the saved game from the PS5 drive, then try starting up the PS5 version of fallen order and hopefully I'll see the message "Import PS4 System Save Data"?  This might create the same conditions as preslestan described: "It only works as long as there is no save for the PS5 version."

What is the best way for me to do this?  My concern is that if for some reason I can't get the "import PS4 System Save Data" to appear on the startup screen, I don't want to lose the hours I spent starting a new journey on the PS5.

    Thanks.

The solution that preslestan reported worked.  I deleted my saved game from the PS5 version of Fallen Order.  I didn't worry too much about losing the progress on that short run of the game since it was uploaded to the cloud anyways.  Then, when I started Fallen Order PS5 version, it had the option "import PS4 System Save Data".  So, Preslestan, you were right that you have to start the PS5 version fresh, with no new games started, to import the PS4 version of your saves.

Thanks and enjoy the PS5 version of the game!  I know I will!
