Re: *FIXED* Origin crashing after update

Did you follow all steps described here when manually uninstalling Origin?
If not, please do so, in order to prepare a clean new Origin install on your system.

When re-installing Origin, make sure to install the last full release of the Origin client not a beta version.

  • Thank you for the fast response! Much appreciated.

And yes, i uninstalled manually as posted in the link (every step including the registry). And i have downloaded the last origin setup from the site, even the install from the disc gives the same results.

The only thing i couldn't do was the first step, as the downloadcache folder in the programdata folder seemed empty, but as it only prevented redownloading games i didn't give it much thought.

Could the crass be due to heavy server traffic and failure to connect? Before Origin worked fine...

    FIXED

After going through every step, uninstalling manually, running CCleaner, running as admin the problem persisted. By this time I also had succesfully installed SW BF on a laptop, so I knew this was PC related (and not origin/EA).

I ran a clean boot (through MSConfig) and still the problem was not solved and Origing stopped working, which means it wasn't interference with another program like an antivirus. But i noticed i was running a select booting sequence (afaik i did not manually change this), so I selected the normal startup procedure which loads everything and afterwards Origin worked as normal like the week before.   :D

So if others have this problem, might want to check THIS (= clean boot)

    Good luck!
