Re: FPS problems PC

@CapnPotato off the top of my head this second I would try with a clean cfg as your config could be the problem  but be warned you will have to redo all game settings. But first try a clean boot as this could be due to a program on your pc lol again this is all my bf4 write ups but it is the same for this game .....

Try a clean boot : run a Clean Boot: http://help.ea.com/en/article/how-to-clean-boot-your-pc/
This should ensure that no programs are interfering in the background.

NOTE>>> If the clean boot fixes it below are a list of  programs and PC settings known to give issues just to try and help you pin point this

Below are programs known to make issues in games

Disable Mantle if you have it and try Direct X, Turn OFF Anti-Aliasing Deferred in video card settings in game. If you have page file turned off then turn it back on as this can make errors even with 32gigs ram.

Others have said if they uninstall MSI Afterburner issues / crashing is stopped. So if you have this installed remove program and test BF4. Also look at other programs as Asus Game First Service...ROG Game First , Razer synapse, Razer Cortex, Qualcomm Killer Service , Fraps, EVGA Precision, Geforce experience, be sure to turn off the streaming function that is enabled by default ,Raptr, RivaTuner , ASRock eXtreme Tuner, Steam, Skype, aero ,Overwolf extra program in teamspeak and xfire are known to make issues as well. And I am sure more programs not in my list yet turn one off at a time and test BF4.

Uninstall the HD Audio Driver from the video card driver install add/remove programs. This silly thing makes issues in BF4 for some. Reboot then repair BF4 to be safe.

C:\Users\your PC Name\Documents\your battlefront folder/ starwars

starewars folder in my documents holds game configs and screen shots even if starwars is installed on different drive. When you uninstall starwars it does NOT remove this folder. So when you install the game again you can still have the same issues. Even if its not a new install it is still worth trying as the game cfg could be mucked up.

1- Go to my Documents and remove starwars/ battlefront  folder place it on your Desktop for now.
2- Be warned you do have to set up your in game settings again.
3-Repair starwars
4- When done go test your game. If it fails reboot your PC and run repair game again and test starwars.

@CapnPotato  Anytime happy to help you and thank you for the XP and solution on my post  as it will help others down the road. Now if not done already you just need to find the program doing it / making the issue in game have a look in programs I have listed if not done already :]

So I turned my computer off last night and turned it on today. Went to play battlefront just a moment ago and its happened again. How do I resolve the problem with the programs you said about? I don't really understand what I'm looking for and what I'm supposed to do with said programs.

Ok so I've read through that link but I'm still having trouble understanding it. Am I closing down programs, or processes?

@CapnPotato What you need to do is open task manager then look in startup tab this is all the programs running when you boot up your PC. One program in task manager / start up is making your game act up so you need to find it. Turn off one program at a time and test the game after you turn off one program on your PC. If issue still shows in game turn the program back on and move to next program in startup tab turn it off and test game etc.

Sorry for the lack of reply, been very busy recently! I enabled all start-up programs as they were all disabled and from there disabled each one individually and then opened the game to see if the problem was fixed. However, after doing this for all programs, none of them seemed to be resolving the problem. Any ideas on what else to do? Also, I was not able to open the NVIDIA control panel either.

  • If you right click on the NVIDIA GeForce Experience icon in the lower right corner, you should be able to select "Open NVIDIA Control Panel" from the available choices. You'll need to have installed the drivers from NVIDIA's website, not just using the drivers that come with Windows. I also am using a GTX 660.
