Re: I need help forwarding the ports.

Hey bud,

http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Gateway/default.htm

Try this website. I direct linked to the gateway router brand, just choose your model and they provide pretty good step by step. You can also look up XBOX ONE forwarding on that site as well. They should provide all the ports you need with screen shots.

Generally you go to WAN  services and the port forwarding option is there.

From your screenshot I would guess you will have to login to your router and enter wan services where you can see you currently have port forwarded 0 things.

  • I asked for a simple step by step... if nobody can provide it please don't comment.

For a step by step you will need to provide us with the brand and model of your router and pray that one who reads this thread happens to have the same one out of the thousands of routers out there. Don't be arrogant and insist on getting step by step instructions - that wont get you far.

http://portforward.com/ is your best bet for a step by step guide for your specific router or one very close to it. If your router is provided by your Internet Service Provider their support should be able to guide you through the process as well.

  • Ok I checked the portforward page and found out my model. Screenshot below

They don't have a tg797n tutorial... only tg797 and mine used to look like what's in the pictures till it got updated now I ain't even sure how to do this.

    help please...

This is the link with the same name as my modem I'm supposed to copy...

    UPDATE!

Ok so I went to my ISP For Support and well... They added the ports but no difference what so ever...

When I went to test out the Ports they say closed not opened which worries me... I think my ISP did them wrong so now I'm screwed. Hoping someone can figure this out. The ISP Put them in for me.

    Pictures below.

Tested all ports (Here is 2 for example) and they say they ain't open. Not sure if I'm doing anything wrong.

my Xbox IP is 10.0.0.88 and it's also a static IP.

  • I used the software on the PortForward website... I even tried Online Port checkers and they say the same thing. Error.... That's why I haven't done the other ports because of this error.

Can't anyone help me or not? Would love a "Yes we can help you" or "No we cannot provide you an answer" Instead of ignoring my support thread...

Online port checking tools might fail if your Internet Service Provider (ISP) has placed you behind a NAT, especially if you might be sharing external IP address with other people.

When you used the port checker application were you directly connected to the same router/modem a the Xbox? It would probably help if you describe your network.

Why do you want to port forward in the first place? You have connection issues or something? If you want to check if there's a port forwarding issue you can always put your Xbox in DMZ in your router - this is for daily use not secure and might cause other devices on your network to have issues but it might help with diagnosing whatever problem you have on the Xbox.

PS. please be aware that this is a public forum, not direct customer support - it's mostly gamers helping other gamers (like me right now) - if there's noone there can answer then there's noone that can answer.

  • I'm from Australia and I am experiencing empty servers. My NAT Type is Open and Yes the Xbox is connected to the same modem. I even put the IP Of the Xbox into DMZ Mode and that didn't solve anything.

The only reason I'm doing this cause of Empty Servers I have been suffering with since I bought the game on Day 1. Some people have said that opening Ports improves connection rate with the game hence the reason I'm doing this. I don't want to experience empty servers anymore. I want to Enjoy this game but I can't thanks to this and I can't return the game because it's been over a month now.

What was EA Thinking of not adding a server browser... Me + 100s of people out there wouldn't be dealing with this heck I've even sat in an empty server for over 30 minutes to an hour to play a Cargo Match... What the hell.
