Re: Infinte loading in Mission 9

It was the last time I trusted you EA. When I see how many people are complaining about this I can imagine that a majority of players who have experienced these issues do not show up here and you do nothing in three weeks but blame us, it disappoints me hugely.

The point you made about having no prior performance issues (in my case even with graphics set to "high") is what I find so illogical about EA's claim. How does a graphic card perform smoothly first, to then suddenly crash? it's BS, they are lying! 4 GB VRAM does help alleviate that, I get it, but that's not the REASON for the crash. Otherwise you should be able to play Mission 9 by simply activating low resolution graphics settings.

Left this alone for a few days to give @Straatford87 & @EA_Kent a chance to sort it out and I've come back and OH WOW it's now SOLVED! ah no wait that's right in addition to releasing a buggy game they have buggy forum software that apparently forces them to mark everything as solved no to cover up the fact that the game is so broken but because telling people that it's fixed makes it easier to find that it's broken.

I tried to add more than this but there is a limit on 20 per post and I'm pretty sure if I made the 8 posts it would require to copy in every EA team member whos ID I've found thus far that it woudl be considered in breach of terms but lets spread the word incase one of them knows:

 - how to fix the game

 - what's even happening on fixing the game

 - how to fix the forum

To summarise for those EA members new to the party who don't want to read 45 pages of how they work for a company that is seemingly feckless. The game has been realised without proper testing, a play through on a system with a graphics card that met minimum spec but not recommended spec would have caught this issue. We only know this becuase we the comunity have done the testing ourselves (yes we have been doing your job for you and we don't even get a thank you). We have proven that the issue relates to systems with 2GB of VRAM and increasing those systems to 4GB of VRAM (VRAM is the RAM on your graphics card the V stands for Video, some of you may not be techies and not know the difference between system RAM commonly just called RAM and Video RAM often shortened to VRAM, I question if the person who wrote the minimum spec that is actaully lower than is required to play the game knew the difference so I feel I should point this out) then the game will run without issue. Spending £150 on a graphics card to play a £40 title though when the specs said you could run it is not an apporpreate solution.

p.s.if you are wondering how it is I have the time to look that up and what you could do to otherwise fill that time, FIX THE GAME!!!!

And now I can't play online, this has better be that you're generically incompitent EA and not that you're trying to ban me from the game I paid you for becuase I'm upset that you charged me for something you couldn't be bothered to finish properly!! I mean if you're looking for ways to get me to post less content that paints you in a bad light don't break the game in a way that means I can play it even less!!!

Superb news. Now I just want to know when the update is coming!

I have been following this thread closely since the games release, same issues as everyone else. 

Be nice if EA could keep us updated more regularly, and not with the generic reply that we all so despise.

So my PC specs are i5 46xx with a GTX750ti having the same issues with mission 9. Im below on CPU but above minimum specs on graphics card so we should be able to at least play the game even if its laggy, which it wasnt until mission 9 and nothing. 

 So just to let others know I installed a GTX1650 graphics card and another 8gb of system ram because I have wanted to run dual channel for a while now and now I got past mission 9! The better video card will help the other games I play as well so it wasnt an upgrade for just this game.

I'm a bit worried that the only confirmation this fix is coming is via Discord rather than any comment in this thread. Especially as we know they've been in this thread to tidy up the mass tags on Hubington's replies. 

Would it be possible to get any kind official word on this issue and if it'll be fixed in the next patch?

It's been over three weeks now. 

I am unclear as to what the situation is regarding this matter.  Is there going to be a patch to solve this issue?  I do not have the money to go out and buy a new GPU.  My GPU is just over the minimum requirements for the game according to EA specs.  I can also play up to mission 8 and then infinite loading on mission 9.  I can also play all the other modes with no issues.  

I cannot see that this is a hardware issue even though in some cases where players have put in a 4gb GPU it solved it. 

I don't know.  Never ever in my life have I had this happen to me.  I am 45 years old.  Been around a long time.  My son who is 13 really enjoys the EA Star Wars games, but its the first time we have not been able to complete a mission.  

Can EA management please give us an update here.  Or at least tell us what's going on.  I understand that they are getting flack on a lot of platforms, but surely there must be someone monitoring these threads as some of us are paying customers.  I have an EA playpro membership.

We have all been patient here. We are all truly interested in playing the game your company has produced. However, the situation with this bug is untenable. It is not acceptable to publish a game stating the requirements unclear enough that hundreds of users cannot play it through. What is more is you have been keeping us interested parties in the dark about what is or could be done to address the problem. We need an update, at least. A REAL updated, not this useless, "We're still investigating" stuff. We need to know SOMETHING, ANYTHING is being done if you don't want us all to insist upon a refund. If we are correct in how we the community have narrowed down the issue, and it is in fact that the later levels of the single-player need more than 2GB of VRAM. That was not made clear in the published minimum requirements, and is indeed contraindicated. We have waited more than 3 weeks for any indication from you that this will be addressed and we will be able to play the game. If we won't we need to be told, either way. You have had the better part of a month now to figure out which it is. We need to know if we are wasting time and money on waiting for a solution.

So is the current wisdom that I may have to upgrade my graphics card just to finish the story mode? That seems low, even for EA. Suddenly pay-to-win and loot crates don't seem to bad. Fingers crossed this can be addressed in the next patch.

And thank you to everyone here in the community that care more than the EA group.  I guess time will tell what the outcome will be.  

Think I will go back to playing ye old classics! 😕

@chaddly101My understanding is that, VRAM under 4gb seems to be the issue. Because everyone who has reported the problem seem to have only 2gb or less. This is all info from the users in threads like this. I am unaware of any direct confirmation by EA of this assessment by users. The only remedy we know works right now is a new GPU with more VRAM i.e. 4-6gb. What is still at question is wether EA is going to push out a software solution to this issue. EA has been basically silent on the causes of this problem or any perspective solution. The only movement I am aware of is a warning about using systems with GPUs beneath the stated minimum specs, even though everyone I am aware of have GPU models above the minimum spec.

Just to add to the list of others who have done the same, I have swapped my GTX 680 2GB VRAM card with a GTX 960 4GB VRAM card and everything works fine now. 

I'm saying this hoping I'm wrong, but I feel like the devs might be stumped with this one and there may not be a fix that doesn't involve changing the actual game to make it run on 2gb GPU's. If that's the case, they're not going to do a major overhaul for what's to them a small portion of players.

Then they should return the money to that "small portion of players", which I think isn't as smaller as you think. For each one of us complainting here or in other places, I'm pretty sure there are lots more that aren't being heard anywhere because they don't know where or how to complaint.
