    I forgot to say it is just an issue with JFO. If I back out to the PS5 menus after opening JFO, the menu music & sounds will be audible, but bringing the game up again results in no sound still. One thing that seems to work is keeping JFO open when putting the PS5 to sleep instead of backing out to the UI before entering rest mode. Waking the console & logging in to my profile will load in to JFO first instead of the home UI & there are no audio problems. Strange issue.

  • Sorry for the necro, but I can confirm the game still has this issue today nov 11th 2022 on PS5.

    Could be reproduced several times over the past few days, always happens following the console being put on rest mode while the game is still on. Other games don't have that issue, and the console menus and everything outside of Fallen Order still has audio. Closing the game and relaunching it fixes the issue.

    Also, when the audio issue is ongoing, cutscenes also play in super speed as all dialogue lines are basically skipped (instead of playing normally but muted).

    @skypiercerjr This is possibly a PS5 issue. Rest mode causes some issues with some games… Sony have said they have fixed the rest mode and device link issues.. But there are still some. It’s been recommended by many sources to turn off all rest mode features..

    Which I do and since I have I very very rarely encounter a issue with any game

    @ScarDuck14 Just my anecdotal experience, but I’ve played probably 10 PS5 games since my last reply here and have yet to encounter any problems using rest mode like I have with JFO. Seems less likely to be a PS5 issue, and disabling an otherwise functional system feature to accommodate one game is a big ask.

    @SzavwaThat’s why I said possibly. 😀

    I put thousands off hours on my PS5. Mainly F1 games with long ten hour marathon sessions and never have anywhere near as many issues or crashes ( 2 ) compared other players. On the occasions that I’ve had rest mode on Cod Cold War F1 21 & 22, FIFA and others have all crashed or acted up.

    So in search off answers I came across the rest mode problems…

    I just played through God of War Ragnarök over the past week without shutting down or restarting my PS5 once… only sleeping when not in use and zero issues. Not proof, but helps my theory.

    @ScarDuck14 It would follow that those games that don’t work well or at all with sleep mode should be fixed by their respective devs. It’s a common feature since last gen and these few titles that conflict shouldn’t force the user to forego a very useful and typically reliable feature in the meantime. Suggestions like yours are a bandage, not a fix.

    @SzavwaYour absolutely right. It is a bandage. I’m not defending EA. It may well be because off the devs. But I suggest it’s possibly a PS5 issue. As Sony themselves admitted to the rest mode issues. It’s well documented by many sources that’s games continue to have weird issues when booted from rest mode. And although nowhere as bad as they were. Where Rest mode bricked PS5’s. Some issues still remain.
