Re: Request: toggle/hold option for boost

On pc, I use the boost button like a "sprint" key and the drift button like a "handbrake" key. So tapping on and off with 1 key while holding the other key is counter intuitive on the pc.

Just put "boost" on one key, and press twice for "drift" as a combo key
Drift button alone is not working

I use a keyboard for boosting and drifting so single button drifting works, but there's no way to setup a combo. I am just asking to have the option since several other controls have a toggle/hold option.

  • Thanks for the reply. There are options for toggle/hold for drifting, targeting, comms, shields, etc. I am asking for a toggle/hold option for boosting. I use the keyboard so the combo for the joystick does not give me the same functionality.

Ahhh I see. I just assumed you would have the same options, bummer.

I'm chiming in to say that this really needs to be an option. Having a 'hold' option means I don't have to second guess myself about what boost state I'm currently in or not--I know exactly what state I'm in as I've got the button held down/released.

  • Thanks for the feedback Sakrav. I agree, it's mostly muscle memory causing my issue--too many years of holding shift to run in shooters. Or even playing Watch Dogs, The Crew, etc. I am so used to holding a key to boost and another key to powerslide.

It's funny, because sometimes I am flying and can't figure out why I can't turn...then I realize doh, I am still boosting even though I let go of the key! It's not a huge gripe, but it would be a welcomed quality of life improvement.
