The Star Wars Battlefront team have moved on to Battlefront II and confirmed they'll no longer deliver any new content updates to this title. We'll raise your concerns up to the team as we've seen other similar situations like in this post where unlocking a weapon is posing difficult due to finding matches. 

Thanks for reaching out to us about this and hopefully you're able to get it soon. There are still players online, although a lot have moved to the next game. Population always tends to go up for games on the weekend since people are off work and school, so that should help reduce wait times for games.
