i am not a fan of souls like games due to their difficulty. i want some challenge but not too much to the point where i will get frustrated with it. i heard somewhere online that story mode was too easy but jedi knight was too hard. i'm not playing for the story i just don't want frustrating gameplay. i want to make sure that i am picking the right difficulty for me as i want to have fun but not have super frustrating gameplay. i'm not sure i like the idea of losing everything when you die and i don''t have the patience to play sections over and over again if i will just lose everything when you die like you do in the souls and hollow knight games. other than the souls like gameplay i like everything about it. i know a lot of are still frustrating even on the easiest difficulty setting. if anyone has played the game on story mode please let me know how easy it is and if you think i should select jedi knight instead thanks.
Story mode difficulty ranges from very easy to stupidly hard there are too many fights that still require razer accuracy of dodge and parry to be able to get through them. According to the description, that is one thing that is supposed to be eased back on as you go into the easier difficulties. The other problem is the reaction time to dodge is still pretty required to be pretty high. Some enemies give a lot of notice of a non-blockable attack, some are doing it mid-attack. So even if you can get the blocks in, it is not dodging the unblockable attacks that will cause to you eat up stims like Pez candies and send you to the respawn screen. The worst part about it is, even if they just gave more notice about needing to dodge rather then block, some enemies would just perpetually be marked with the high frequency that they can do said attacks.
what i really want in story mode is easier combat but not too easy that it take no thought to kill enemies. i want to have fun and have a good challenge without getting frustrated. i haven't play the game yet so i can't comment on difficulty but i usually play on the easiest difficulty in games but may not in this game if it is too easy.
