Re: Story Mode is overly "difficult" for a "Story Mode"

@Ch33z3Sandwich I agree about the jumping and wall walking. My first impression was that the game was one big jumping puzzle! And I'm not too fond of jumping puzzles. I did find that I got better at it as I played, and it's not so bad now.
About story mode, I only just found out that there was a story mode! Why I didn't see it at sign-on I don't know, and I have yet to try it.
I typically play games on the highest level that will let me get through without too much frustration, which is mostly the "normal" level. I use the lowest level to get past stuff when I can't beat the level I'm on, which usually involves several tries and some research.
One thing I feel strongly. If I've paid for a game I should be able to play all of it, somehow. I don't mind open world games where I can ignore some of the content, but when I hit something where I can't, after my best efforts, proceed past a certain point, I feel I've been cheated. Answers include being able to bypass something (as you said), switching to an easier level, and even a cheat! Also this game does not allow two things that I normally use. One is to "chip away" at a hard situation while dying multiple times. Another is taking cover and also having a long range weapon. Oh, one more situation. When I can't beat the final ultra-hard boss or whatever, I'll watch someone do it on YouTube and move on to another game, considering that the game was worth it anyway!
Incidentally, I'm wondering how much of a story this game has. So far (I haven't finished it) it seems to be battling though a lot of stuff just to be told to go somewhere else! The "stuff" can be fun (I'm still playing) but without it I'm not sure what would be left.

Just to add ... I've now tried Story Mode. I was having difficulty with the fight where there are troopers and a robot, which I defeated, but had very little health left, then they dump an AT thing on me! In Story Mode I breezed through it. I decided to leave Story Mode on to see how it went and it has made the game so much more enjoyable that I'm sticking with it. I would have been OK with the Knight level, but the way it throws you back to the last save point at every death, and respawns the enemies was sending me crazy.

So now I'm getting through the fights easily, but I still have to actually do the fighting, which I wouldn't want to lose. All the rest of the game seems to be the same, so there is a still a challenge, particularly jumping and climbing, and also the problem of working out how to get through the endless caverns etc (is there no planet that actually has flat surfaces that extend for more than 10 feet?).

I think I understand those who want the mode to be even easier (fair enough) but this suits me perfectly, though maybe just a bit harder would be good? Anyway, it's improved my enjoyment of the game immensely.

A separate thought on immersion. From the movies, a light saber is a formidable weapon indeed. One blow  that lands is normally enough to end a fight. Adepts stay alive by not allowing that blow to land. It can be used as a cutting torch to cut through a thick metal door. Force fields seem to be the only things that can stand against it. So, it would be logical for fights against non Jedi (or Sith) opponents to end very quickly. This makes the current Story Mode the most accurate representation of the weapon imo.
