@Ch33z3Sandwich I agree about the jumping and wall walking. My first impression was that the game was one big jumping puzzle! And I'm not too fond of jumping puzzles. I did find that I got better at it as I played, and it's not so bad now.
About story mode, I only just found out that there was a story mode! Why I didn't see it at sign-on I don't know, and I have yet to try it.
I typically play games on the highest level that will let me get through without too much frustration, which is mostly the "normal" level. I use the lowest level to get past stuff when I can't beat the level I'm on, which usually involves several tries and some research.
One thing I feel strongly. If I've paid for a game I should be able to play all of it, somehow. I don't mind open world games where I can ignore some of the content, but when I hit something where I can't, after my best efforts, proceed past a certain point, I feel I've been cheated. Answers include being able to bypass something (as you said), switching to an easier level, and even a cheat! Also this game does not allow two things that I normally use. One is to "chip away" at a hard situation while dying multiple times. Another is taking cover and also having a long range weapon. Oh, one more situation. When I can't beat the final ultra-hard boss or whatever, I'll watch someone do it on YouTube and move on to another game, considering that the game was worth it anyway!
Incidentally, I'm wondering how much of a story this game has. So far (I haven't finished it) it seems to be battling though a lot of stuff just to be told to go somewhere else! The "stuff" can be fun (I'm still playing) but without it I'm not sure what would be left.
