Re: Unplayable: Game does not start after EAC splash screen

I've been unable to play Squadrons now since it updated earlier this week.  When I attempt to launch the game I see a window that states "Launch Error Failed to start the game", and there is a blue exit button displayed on the window (I've attached a screenshot of the window).  In the file C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\EasyAntiCheat\gamelauncher.log I have the following:

I uninstalled and then reinstalled the game but I'm still seeing the same error.

    doenst look like were gona get annything for a while, EAC recommends a fresh reboot, but i would rather not

    Had the same issue and was funny to say I found the solution:

    There are 2 loading screens for the EasyAntiCheating - while the 2nd screen finish loading, tap "Enter" and it should work. CRAZY

    @Straatford87 @EA_Tom , this game has been sitting in my steam library for 2 months now, i have  "played" 92 minutes trying to start it up. can we AT LEAST get an update on how the bug fixes are progressing? or if you guys are working on it at all? it feels as if EA just doesnt seem to care. its been a month since the last official reply, and id like to play the game that i bought 2 months ago

    I've already given up on playing this, uninstalled this as it is a waste of SSD space and a waste of money...

    Such a shame, really, i have many friends in the simming and space combat communities who would love to play it, but don't want to waste money on a game that doesn't work.

    For those that are experiencing this problem right now, perhaps it's the same bug I experienced yesterday: Easy Anti-Cheat Error starting Squadrons: Untrusted System File vrclient_x64.dll - Answer HQ

    As a workaround, try to install/update/uninstall and reinstall SteamVR (free on Steam) and see if that helps (yes, even if you don't have any VR hardware - for some reason Easy Anti-Cheat has had a problem when the SteamVR vrclient_x64.dll is missing and/or outdated since yesterday). That workaround worked for me.

    I was having this same issue. I was using Steam. I did the following but do not know for certain if it is why I can now play without issue. 
    I noticed my OS drive had less than 7 GB free so freed up about 29 GB. I also shut off Windows Defender and installed AVG. Again, I do not know if either of these actions affected my inability to get the game to work, but the game has started after repeated attempts without issue.

    @EA_Ericsorry for the random ping, but it seems @EA_Stafford and @EA_Tom do not exist anymore...
    Can you please have someone look at this issue? All of us can't launch the game at all.

    Alright,

    ive got it working. For everyone who's having this problem, you HAVE to do a full reset of your pc. why or how, i dont know, but reset +reinstall windows form pc worked. my gam just launched, so ima enjoy a game of SW squadrons. as far as i know, there is NO other way to help out with this problem, and believe me, ive looked far and wide...

    @BLK-SQ_LukeTS117 Hey, sorry if i don't jump to a fresh windows install every time a game decides not to work.
    I'd honestly rather not bother with this game if it requires me to reinstall windows. What if it doesn't work? Or stops working after a while? Should i reinstall every time a buggy game feels like causing trouble?

    Sorry, but that's asking too much.

    Please forgive me for not marking this as an "Acceptable Solution", since this solution is not acceptable to me.

    @neo_razgriz yeah ofcourse, no worries. but it doesnt seem to be a problem from EA, but more of an EAC (easy anti cheat) problem. for example: halo maste chief edition wouldnt launch ( works on EAC ) same for rust ( also works on EAC ) all with the same problem: it wouldnt go past the EAC splash screen. i dont think you'll find your answer here, i think if you want it properly fixed you need to go bug EAC

    @BLK-SQ_LukeTS117 I tried, but they only have an online form which states they will get back to me within 2 weeks time.
    I've filled it 3 times already, and waited a few months, but didn't get a reply.
    There is no other way to contact them for support. That's why i was hoping EA has a back-channel to talk to them

    I have the same problem with a new intel build with a 3080 rtx graphics card.  The game runs fine without EAC but I can only play single player then.  If I start the EAC launcher, the splash screen just disappears.  I find the game dumped on startup but there are no EAC errors in the EAC log.  HELP!

    Having same issue with the Steam version Star Wars Squadrons. Haven't played it since the update but gave it a whirl during the holidays and can't get beyond the EASY Cheat splash screen. The splash screen disappears and the Squadrons icon is removed form the task bar.  Steam tells me the game is still running. Task manager tells me the game is still running but somethings not right.

    I've:

    verified the files

    uninstalled and reinstalled Squadrons

    tried to run in VR mode and non VR mode

    Altered my screen resolution

    Changed the high DPI settings

    uninstalled Steam VR and Reinstalled
