now I remember why I never buy an EA game on launch day....or ever if I can help it...
so thought i'd chime in with what I'm seeing aswell.
On first boot of the game the frame rate was in the 1000's. Put Vsync on in game which locked it to 60fps (my monitor refresh rate) and everything was fine for the 1st mission.
came out of the 1st mission and went into practice mode, vsync decided it wasn't going to work anymore and frame rates went up to the 100's again. toggling Vsync on/off in the game menu had no effect.
rebooted game, vsync now doesn't work at all no matter what option is selected.
Force vsync on nvidia settings and game runs smooth as at 60fps in flat screen.
Now....try VR...
its horrible, really really horrible....
Frame rate counter is telling me its at 80 fps (occulus rift) but blatantly isn't at all......looks more like 30fps to me...which in a VR headset is horrible....
Now another interesting thing. If I switch the vsync off in nivida settings and also in the game menu....the refresh rate is still synced at 60fps....i now can't seem to switch vsync off, even with nvidia settings set to force vsync off. that is a bit dodgy....
If Vsync is off in game and nvidia settings when the game boots the framerate will be unlocked but as soon as you hit the main menu its locked at 60 again. Very strange....
Performance wise all the indicators are telling me its running absolutely fine but its obviously locking the frame rate at 30 or something stupid on any refresh rate above 60. This seems to be the same issue affecting both VR users and also people with higher refresh rate monitors.
a good indicator that its blatantly not 80fps is if you go into the hanger, turning your head in VR is absolute fine, as soon as you try rotate your character with the pad/joystick/mouse you can see the horrible tearing and refresh rate issue issues.
Its unplayable in VR for me. 60fps flatscreen non vr absolutely perfect.

also thanks for the multiple launchers that have to boot just to run the game....epic opens origin....origin opens epic...and they both open steam vr.... jeezus
