I have a Logitech Force 3D Pro and it’s exactly the same as one of the joysticks that EA tested the Logitech Extreme 3D Pro. I was wondering if it’s possible for that model to be added too so I don’t have to buy a new one.
Game wouldn't recognize my throttle axis so I got vjoy and Joystick Gremlin, and haven't looked back. Ridiculous that you have to, but oh well.
Just make sure that you configure vjoy for the number of buttons on your HOTAS, , and the 4 directions of your hat switch, so JG can map them.
I got a VKB stick, and it keeps dropping input from time to time. I'll be in a tight turn, go to yaw a little and it won't respond, go to turn, won't respond. Center the stick and waggle it, and then it goes. The game literally cannot keep up with the inputs coming from the stick.
It's not the stick, because I've verified it works fine in other games, and I had the VKB Joytester running along side the game, logging the input as registered. So.
The keyboard/mouse would be great if the controls were intuitive enough to be fun, but they're not.
EA, I think, really shoved this out the door on a deadline and it shows. For a fairly die-hard flight sim fan, who started in the 90s with the original X-wing, this game was supposed to be polished, balanced and a modern sim per the buildup as I took it.
The graphics look great tho, so it's got that goin for it.
