@Metric-SINISTER If you turn off all the pointers, your radar shows you a wrench, and the hangar. Just LOOK at the instruments. You don't need floaty pointers all over the screen.

@Elphaba oh....if it's to turn of pointers on the screen, then that's a visual option. But your OP stated turning off wrench on the radar.
- 5 years ago@Metric-SINISTER No, you misunderstood. It's to FORCE all players to only have the cockpit instruments, and in possible addition to remove the 'target lock' for lasers thereby also removing ALL aim helpers and relying purely on pilot skill to lead the shots.
- 5 years ago@Metric-SINISTER And of course it's a 'visual' option!?; my point is to make a server setting that removes everything but cockpit instrumentation from ALL pilots in the match.
- 5 years ago@Metric-SINISTER And yes, even the wrench on the radar and hangar can go AFAIC. Because you KNOW where they are by the ships. You just have to look for your ships!
It's called 'Situational Awareness' and all the chrome and 'helpers' prevent people from learning how to build it up and keep it.
Just dumbing the game down to the lowest denominator; that's NEVER a good thing, in any situation.- 5 years ago@Elphaba The ships may be there but the repair function may not necessarily be available if it's the enemy's turn to attack. So the wrench is there to let players know that repairs are available.
- 5 years ago@Metric-SINISTER Again, that comes down to a lack of awareness of what's going on; if the enemy is attacking, then you know you can't repair. So you don't fly there. Simple. The 'wrench' and all this guff is just a crutch for people to not use their brains.
