RIP TIE Defenders?

Hi guys, the Concussion Missile for TIE Defs just got corrected, so is this the end of TIE Defs? They were not very competitive in the first place.

  • The are very competitive, they were the meta before the patch, they are still the best ship on imperial side, they still have amazing drift, good turnrates, good auxilaries, shields, good power system. As a matter of fact expect another nerf coming to them as they are still far above average.

@CloudWalker60 Are we talking about Dogfight PVP or 2 different Fleet Battle Modes. While I find them somewhat useful in Fleet Battle Vs AI, in Dogfights even my X-wing just frags TIE Defs good, so based on my experience I think TIE Defs needs some form of rebalancing rather than a strong nerf.
  • Both, particularly Fleet Battle, they basically replaced the interceptors.

  • They can perma drift with one of the best boost speed of the game, have a shield with power management twice faster than anybody and a component to instant overcharge any system (Troll mode on, because imp player don't know what's power management so motive had to make it easy for them, Troll mode off)

In the same time, the b wing...........

All my New Republic Dogfight PVP wins involve Imp players that use TIE Defs. You could argue some are new players but I do have new players on my NR teams as well, so nope TIE Def is not equivalent to God Mode for Imps, in fact sometimes moving too fast cost the Imps the game because TIE Fighters & Ceptors got fragged, leaving the TIE Defs exposed.

Basically they need to be rebalanced in my opinion and not got strong nerfs.

  • We will see - I think there is alot of potential for the TIE Defender - however it is very more experienced pilots as the APS needs to be handled along side power management to really unlock its potential.
