Squadrons Stops Recognizing Controller Input on PS4

What were you doing when the bug occurred? Step by Step detail is helpful. When the X-Wings come out and the dogfight begins, shortly after (after one or two X-Wings are destroyed) the controller stops responding. The only input that is accepted is when I put the PS button to take me to the main menu (which allows all inputs) but when I go back to the game it does not recognize any inputs from the controller.

In the Prologue, when the X-Wings come out and the dogfight begins, shortly after (after one or two X-Wings are destroyed) the controller stops responding. The only input that is accepted is when I put the PS button to take me to the main PS4 menu (which allows all inputs) but even when I go back to the game it does not recognize any inputs from the controller. The ship either runs into something or it sails off into the distance until it is destroyed. I restart at the previous checkpoint, but encounter the same problems every time.
