Squadrons VR Mouse Issue

How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
How severe is your issue? Can't play
What happens when the bug occurs? All movement is spiraling uncontrollably to the left.
What do you expect to see? I would expect to be able to move in the direction the mouse moves.

I just purchased Squadrons and for almost two hours of VR game play it worked fantastic (I use a keyboard and mouse) as controls.  Then all of a sudden the game starts spiraling to the the left with no way to stop it as if I was using the mouse to move left as fast as possible.

If I switch to using my monitor, everything works perfectly.  If I switch back to VR I spiral to the left non stop.

Steam, Oculus, and EA are all pointing fingers at each other.

I've tried different keyboard and mouse (bluetooth and wired) same issue.  I've tried Quest2 and Rift, same issue.  I've completely uninstalled everything (Oculus app, Steam, Steam VR and Squadrons) same issue.

I factory reset both VR headsets, same issue.

I need help!  Paid for a game that isn't playable at the moment.

  • Seriously EA? I mean I don't mind bugs, I still play cyberpunk and got almost 100 hours in. So I'm tolerant. But this is worse.
    You can't f*cking fly which is the whole point of the game!!!!! WHY IS THERE STILL NO RESPONSE TO THIS?????

    Seriously if there isn't any feedback within the week, I'll make sure this issue booms the social media and the impact will be worse than Cyberpunk!

  • Same exact issue. I JUST BOUGHT THE DAMN GAME AND THEY HAVE BEEN IGNORING US FOR 10 MONTHS. TEN MONTHS! TENNN MONTHSSSSSSSS. NO REPLY. Support told me to go screw myself. I HATE EA with a passion. I will never order another product and have told all my friends to never buy their games or products.

    6 months since the last comment about this and 18 months or so since the original issue. I've just got Squadrons and playing VR - exactly the same mouse issue. I know the cause in this case though: I changed the VR resolution scaling to 150%. The mouse then became locked into the top left corner as described in the first post here and by others, so the ship just hurtles off the left, and mouse can't be moved even to the centre point. So, clearly - the mouse is somehow not being scaled when the underlying resolution is. I changed the resolution back and the problem went away.

    Such an easy fix, but I get the sense (given how often the game won't even launch, and not at all directly in VR - only via the toggle option in-game) that no-one's working on this? EA, any chance of fixing this so I can use all the VR settings?

    @radioactivetoxin They don't reply to legitimate bug reports on the forum, they don't ask for a team to come in and fix things, and they don't care.

    I also reposted a bunch of these problems as new threads since the CMs are closing threads to keep them from being necro'ed and requesting that we start new ones. I did this on Saturday. I understand it's only now Monday. From their reputation, I highly doubt anyone will reply or even attempt to get any of those problems fixed.

    They abandoned this game, and they need to know how wrong that was.

    @PowerPaladin541that links seems to be broken? I'll create a new post as well anyway - even launching the game is super janky. I can only launch once per computer reboot. If I go out of the game, I can only get it to re-open by restarting my machine. Otherwise it fails to launch completely. (Not ideal while trying to test different settings...)
