Nah, the energy management is one of the most interesting parts of space sims (including the oldest X-Wing and TIE Fighter games), and especially in dog fights. If everyone's energy distribution was neutral or coupled to each other, then the number of maneuvers and tactics is grossly limited and creativity in dog fights is squashed. For me, if this game didn't have a good energy management component, it'd be dropped from my collection. ;-)

Loving the fact that things may get complicated. I also have a deep hate for third person view in most games. "Why can I look around corners without peeking?... Oh so I can see my gold gun and plumbers crack"
