I would like EA games to be aware of this review, and the concerns associated with it.
There are claims regarding Battlefront that will frankly ruin the entire game such as:
No Galactic Conquest: Seriously? If EA games thinks they can release a battlefront game without galactic conquest, then they must not have ever played the original Battlefront games. Galactic conquest was one of the best features, and one that I myself have poured hundreds of hours into. Being able to control a fleet and choose where to attack gave an entirely new level of control to the war scenario.
No Space Dogfights: This is infuriating simply because it is pure laziness on EA's part. The code has already been written. It has been done before, and it was an experience that no other game allowed you to do. One of the best flying games ever made was Star Wars: X-wing vs Tie Fighter for windows 98. Battlefront's space battles were a way to bring the incredible battles of this older game to a newer system. Also, seeing as Battlefield 3 and 4 have air-only battles, I know EA is able to do it. Taking that aspect away from the game would be foolish.
No single player campaign: I do not understand why a company that has put out two of the best single player campaigns (Battlefield 4 & Hardline) would waste the potential of a Star Wars themed campaign. That is just disappointing.
No controllable AT-AT: Vehciles large and small have always been pilot-able in the battlefield games. Many gamers were looking forward to DICE creating Battlefront because of their history of incorporating vehicles that no one imagined they would be able to pilot. Having AI controlled AT-AT is unfortunate given the potential of such a large, pilot-able vessel. I imagine a large slow moving vessel that doubles as a spawn point. The interior of the AT-AT could be a usable space that gives the enemy the chance to board the AT-AT via grappling hook such as on the Battle of Hoth and attack the AT-AT from the inside.
While the game hasn't been released yet, I want everyone to express how they feel and put pressure on the developers to do it right the first time. This game has been given another chance, and it would be a shame to see it butchered.
Read the original review here, comment, share, and make it viral. I want management to see this and know that we expect more from our Star Wars games.
