Hello Dice Team,
Ever since I heard you were creating the new version of star wars battlefront, I started to think of an incredible feature that would make the fans go crazy as well as revolutionize the multiplayer experience. As I am sure you are aware the original 2 star wars games incorporated AI bots and were a staple for the battlefront series. The issue with the bots is that there is always a static number of bots set by the server administrator. I have also observed in both Battlefield as well as battlefront is that individuals tend to join servers with more individuals because no one wants to play alone.
I have come up with the an idea where you can solve that issue as well as increase multiplayer usage. The idea is that all servers with bots will host the maximum size of the server and as real players join the server, it replaces the bot. As someone leaves the server, another bot will take its place. This would correct potential issues of lag with too many bots in the server and would always utilize the maximum sports on the server. You could also incorporate an AI bot leaderboard. This could be a fun feature for players to view which bots have the best record and how they measure up to other bots. To accommodate the number of servers and bots needed to keep all servers full, bots would be selected randomly to join the servers in use. As a server capacity increases, you would randomly pull from the pool of randomly generated bots. No bot could be used in two servers at once and wouldn't require variation in skins, just randomly generated names.
If you use this idea I am not asking for credit, or reimbursement of any kind. I think this is a very innovative idea and your company surely has the experience and resources to use it and make it work efficiently. I look forward to hearing back from you. I hope you like the idea and thanks for taking the time and consideration to read this email.
Regards,
