star wars battlefront beta ps4 controller abilities are automatically activating

PS4 player here. Every 30-40 seconds one of my soldier abilities will just automatically activate. i.e. my thermal detonator will just toss itself right in front of me or my ion shot charge will activate. This is very troublesome because it essentially handicaps me to only being able to use my guns when I want to in pvp...its especially annoying when I have a jetpack equipped because I just blast off randomly usually right as I'm about to shoot an enemy soldier. I really like the majority of things the developers have done with this game but having this issue makes it nearly unplayable. The only time abilities don't auto activate for me is whenever I'm in a vehicle. I own 2 different dual shock 4 controllers and this issue occurs for me on both of them. Please help?

    @B1it2kri3g please keep us updated if re-installing helps to fix the issue. You can additionally try to rebuild the PS4 database:

    To reset your console or to rebuild your console data base, you need to enter the PS4 safety mode. To restart or update the system as well as rebuilding the database could do the trick:

    Starting the PS4 in Safe Mode

    1. Turn off the PlayStation 4 by pressing the power button on the front panel. The power indicator will blink for a few moments before turning off.
    2. Once the PlayStation 4 is off, press and hold the power button. Release it after you've heard two beeps: one when you initially press, and another 7 seconds later.
    3. Connect the DualShock 4 controller with the provided USB cable and press the PS button on the controller.

    Safe Mode Options

    The following options are available in Safe Mode:

    1. Restart System - Ends Safe Mode and restarts the PlayStation 4 normally.
    2. Update System Software - Allows the PlayStation 4 to update the system software via Internet, USB Drive, or Disc.
    3. Rebuild Database - Scans the drive and creates a new database of all content.
      This operation may take a long time depending on the type and number of data items.

    So I'm not the only who is experiencing this since the beta. My problem is about the triangle button.. It activates when I am a hero or trooper. It's impossible for me to accidentally swipe mt thumbs up to the touch pad because everytime rhis happens, I am in the firefight or about to go in a firefight so my thumbs are the L/R stick

    my problem is with both bumpers and the triangle, all three abilities. i dont believe i am accidentally touching the touch pad either for the same reasons.

    Kamon527 I'm happy and not happy at the same time because I'm not the only one with this problem! I tried to fix the issue but couldn't do it 😕 I ask every person I know, who could help me but they always say it's because of the controller! But I always say NO because in other games it doesn't appears! Like in Battlefield, plants vs zombies GW and Nba 2k16! I asked EA but the solutions they gave me were not that successful! Now I wait till it's fixed or there's a solution which works !

    I hope our problem will be fixed soon!

    You're pressing the touch pad with your thumbs. Swiping or tapping different sections of the touch pad will use your star cards and charge cards.

    @T_REX_TJ99 Also if folks are accidentally hitting the Touch Pad, they can disable the gesure activation from the controls menu.
