Thanks for the reply. I have downloaded and installed Origin client, which appears to be very similar to Steam.
I tried your suggestion of Add a Friend within the client to link my PSN account, but was shown the attached error:
So, I checked out the Help section and found, what I think may apply to me:
If you have issues connecting your account, you will need to properly link them by contacting an EA Advisor.
I went through to the Contact Us part of Origin and need to call 1800 894 823 (Australia) to speak with someone about this issue.
This problem has been resolved.
After speaking with the excellent customer service staff at EA over the phone (Australia 1800 894 823), it turns out that I had previously registered with EA (Origin) another email address and had already activated my PSN account to that one.
The EA staff easily switched the PSN accounts around for me.
