No, both the CPU and GPU are running at factory settings

I read the file you posted. Raptr.exe is the first one to crash. Try to close this aplication before running the game. If you don't use it, uninstall it.

No effect unfortunately, after removing all remnants of my old AMD drivers I am still crashing right after making it through the initial logo splash screens

If you have "pieces" of old amd gpu drivers, you should use this: http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html
