i have this occasional static distortion. it occured the first time i played the game, the only way to fix sound is to exit battlefront completely and restart it. sometimes it occurs on starting game other times only after you have played a few games. the sound bit rate is irrelevant - changing it to any setting may only reset the sound hardware perhaps thus fixing the problem temporarily. i get the strange feeling all sound is being streamed - and this is going wrong which is where the sound problems set in. on the off chance this is whats happening how about installing the sound files to hdd like every other game does? if this is what already happens then i have no idea why its randomly adding static to the sounds including music.
the issue occurs most frequently for me when starting a new map; you go from the join game/ customise screen to the scene just before the game start and if its going to happen you first hear the music change.

Can you try reducing the sample rate from 48Khz to 44.1Khz. This has been reported as helping here:

Additionally, if you have the option to increase your audio driver latency that could help.

thanks for replying 🙂
i already did that. the problem didnt occur when i ran battlefront the next time, but then occured after a few maps. again at the point where you go from the join screen to the screenwipe and map flyby screen, and to confirm this has now happened on all bitrate settings i have from 41.4k right up to 192k, on both 16 bit and 24 bit. it also happened as i say the first time i ran battlefront right from the game start, and the second time it began when i did the xwing training mission, all the way through - that was what made me google and find the 41.4k 16 bit setting suggestion. i dont see an audio latency setting at all.
To clarify also, the sound isnt stuttering, its distorted as if you are getting a very badly static affected radio message, from a long way away. all the sounds are there, just sound is full of static. at first i though it was supposed to be a sound effect like in the movie - where rebel command and 3po are listening to the xwing battle to destroy the first death star; (where the fighters are passing through the deflector shield), but then i noticed it wasnt just the AI pilots commands and other audio which was distorted, but the weapon and explosion sounds also. hope this helps somehow narrow down some more what the issue is.
i am thinking maybe the audio bitrate setting can help remove one problem some people have, but there is another problem which is harder to identify, except when it occurs in game, during the change from the screen (after you finish one map) where you can choose to join the next battle, or configure your cards and character. you select join, and once the timer counts down, the problem will at some point occur during the change to when it shows the map screen and then as it does the screen wipe to show the flyby, thats when i hear the sound distortion start. there is usually a sort of freeze in the wipe effect and the audio, then distortion will start if its going to. sometimes if there is another momentary freeze the audio will fix itself.

Tried this, didn't help either. Also, I have to say it seems odd that all "solution" suggestions are geared towards changing Windows/driver settings, when this is the only game with the problem. Why should we alter/degrade sound settings in general because this game is buggy?
And yes, I know this is a debugging process and an attempt to pinpoint the issue. I just think we're treating the symptoms not the cause, here.

If you have an audio latency setting (possibly called buffer size or similar) it will be in your audio hardware control panel rather than in-game. Increasing the audio latency/buffer size may help. Additionally, it may be worthwhile reseating all of you audio connections.

from the microsoft website, when i googled audio latency/audio buffers
>This topic discusses audio latency changes in Windows 10. ... Starting with Windows 10, the buffer size is defined by the audio driver
i see also a bunch of registry keys mentioned. so it appears windows 10 does not have any ability to change this, it is defined by the driver, and windows 10 will interrogate the driver and/or hardware to discover the range of buffer sizes the hardware or driver can use. there is nothing in any of my audio settings to change latency/buffer size.
perhaps a future update to either my amd drivers or my realtek ones may fix this problem, but since i do not know how battlefront is triggering the issue, this is more a hope than an expectation.
in short i dont think anything short of a patch from DICE/EA or from microsoft/AMD/Realtek can fix it. hope i am wrong tho.

Still not helping I have a 7.1 surround sound headset this is the only game that gives Static. This did not occur until the latest patch for me.
