To confirm have you tried to Restore Game Licence on the PS5?
The digital version should follow the flow for an upgrade by Sony here. If the issue keeps up we might need to ask them about the entitlements on your PSN account.
I have also tried the solutions, but none of them work. I deleted the game and downloaded it again, too. That made no difference, either.
Usually, games of this nature (upgradable) would provide the option to choose between the PS4 and PS5 versions when you're about to download it, but this does not. And once downloaded, when it's sitting on your home screen and you press down, it only displays the full version (i.e., PS4/PS5 combined version) available for purchase.
I contacted Sony again, and they have said my case is sitting with the specialist team and once they have an update on the situation, they'll be in touch.
However, I do remember seeing the game sitting in my library a few weeks ago (I think), and without scrolling over it or anything, it would have the upgrade option showing in the icon. I always thought, ah I'll do it later, and then all of a sudden it stopped showing. So the change, at least on my end, has occurred over the past month or so, prior to that, the option was available.
