@Quiller83 I just got the game and was having this same problem. I switched from Fullscreen mode to Windowed Fullscreen and it seems to have resolved.
I also read that in the 'Game Properties' menu in your Origin Library (right click on the game and select 'Game Properties') you can uncheck the option to Enable Origin in-game, but I haven't confirmed that that fixes it yet.

I know this is an old post, but for anyone wondering, unchecking 'Enable Origin In-Game for Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order' after right clicking the game and going to properties didn't solve the issue, but I DID notice that the black screens were LESS FREQUENT than before.
That being said, playing the game in windowed fullscreen definitely fixed it for me.
