YES! It is absolutely required, there is so much more that can be done with this game. Since it was not very expensive I would pay gladly for a solid DLC:
- mode with bigger squad to take down some bigger capital ships (super star destroyer, starhawk)
- massive battle mode with even bigger squad to destroy/defend death star (a huge potential to recreate epic battles from the movies, for exhample with main objective to support Luke at Yavin, or Lando at Endor, and mentioned heroes could also be controlled by one of the players in the squadron)
- hero ships
- maybe another type of regular ship (as there are so many in SW universe), but Im not sure what exactly
- ranking system fixed (match shouldn't be ranked if someone abandon game, and rank shouldn't drop simply because of not playing the game for a few days)
- more maps
- more customisation options
All of this implemented would elevate the game to a 10/10

a simple fix would be to allow custom missions and team lobbys.
Let the players make their make own missions and maps and scenarios. Allow teams to load into a lobby so clan wars can happen.
EA won't need to spend time or money creating content if they allow the community to make it themselves.
Tbh I'm bored of the game already. Fleet battles don't seem epic. Dogfights are generally one sided. And all the maps feel the same in the end, and too small in scale.
How good would it be to have a fleet battle option when each clan is able to customise it's own fleet? Swap your MC75 for an MC80 Liberty. Swap the Arquittens for Gladiators. Swap a Neb B for an MC30. Not enough tractor beams? swap out some turbo lasers.
The options for this game are limited only by our imagination. So let the community do the work.

I agree. Many of us would pay for good dlc after fixing the stars skybox and improving performance in VR (fix PP). It would help to use fixed foveated rendering to improve the performance. Please, enable that feature too.
