I fixed this issue by disabling virtualization in the BIOS. Which is ridiculous. I shouldn't have to disable that to play a game. @EA_Barry
Turns out I can only play after a reboot.
- 3 years ago@Botamis can you try install windows 11?
It works for me - 3 years ago@Botamis But i pass this game now, im playing Elite Dangerous, much much bigger games with a lot more options

I use this computer for work and can't guarantee all things will work as expected after updating. So I'd rather not 🙂

Hello,
Same issue here, it worked fine when I bought the game.
But since i've changed my computer I get the same issue, after the anticheat loading it just stop running.
I do have the same kind of configuration.-i7 12700k
-Asus Prime Z690-A
-32Gb DDR5
-RTX 3080
it's ridiculous.
- 3 years ago@SMyself You have almost the same setup that i have, try install windows 11,
Or by Elite Dangerous 😀 - 3 years ago
Thanks for your suggestion, but I currently have about 1000hours on Elite Dangerous and I'm not that hurry to install windows 11.
However, I didn't fixed the issue, but I can now launch the game much more often.
For that I simply keep Origin open when I launch it from steam. (yeah it's weird, but now it launch about half of the time.... I can deal with it)I'll let you know if there is any change.
(I won't congratulate EA , steam and EasyAnticheat for the total giving up of its customers)

Well, it seems (in my case) that the issue come from the handshake between Steam and Origin.
So i got a new key for Origin and now it works each time.
For me it's unacceptable. The support is terrible, and EA make things worse and worse with time.
I wish them to disappear.

So EAs stupid bloatware is breaking it? Feb 2023 and this is still broken.
Yup, still broken. I played roughly 3 hours in VR when it came out. I decided to re-install the game to finish the single player, nope. Just fills the Easy Anti-Cheat bar on the splash screen then after a minute or so it closes. My Steam account is linked to EA and I can see all my other EA games I have purchased from Steam but I don't see Squadrons on there, yet it is purchased and in my Steam account. The last time it worked for me was when they were running Origin but since the update to EA App, it broke the game for me.

What worked for me is doing this "Settings>Privacy and Security>Windows Security>Device Security>Core Isolation>DISABLE "KERNAL-MODE HARDWARE-ENFORCED STACK PROTECTION"" Then Reboot. Worked for me after this.
All my games, from all other non EA Game vendors, that use Easy Anti Cheat work perfectly fine with KERNAL-MODE HARDWARE-ENFORCED STACK PROTECTION enabled.
Very disappointed with EA Games not keeping up with this.
I choose to not compromise my system security just because EA will not fix the issue.
It has been well over a year, and this has still not been addressed.
Until I see a change with regards to the lack of support for their software, then I will not be purchasing any further games from EA Games.
You would think EA would react to the 96% of negative reviews they get against their company.
