star wars squadrons black screen on start

Me too,  First of all it demanded that i update my Geforce drivers which I did to the latest ones available on the Nvidia website then it booted to the black screen, have tried several times to launch and restarted my PC twice in an effort to get it to boot, this is a * poor effort on EA's part, what ever happened to games just working out of the box?

Same here. Had just updated to latest Nvidia drivers. Turned off antivirus and firewall to check it wasn't my bullguard, performed file cache integrity check with steam, alt/tab just brings up a blacked out window which disappears when I stop holding the keys, alt/enter for windowed mode does nothing. I wanted this on pc to play on quest 2, perhaps I should have settled with psvr. Don't get this crap on console.

Hi all, this isn’t a solution as I’ve not managed to get time for the game yet, but a quick option; have you tried starting it in windowed mode if possible?

Also make sure your Microsoft Visual C is all up to date or try reinstalling.

thanks for the reply mate. Couldn't find any option to start in windowed mode and alt+enter did nothing. Will give the other methods a go tomorrow as it's getting on for 2am here and I have to be up about 7. Will let.everyone know if any of it works though. Cheers.

I found a solution for me;

Go to your game folder and create a shortcut of the exe file.

then add -window to the path. This forces game to launch in windowed mode.

I minimized and re opened, signed into EA and good to go.

after game loads just get a black screen and then the audio fades out and it just sits there

Hello there.  So I downloaded Star Wars Squadrons on Steam and launched it.  Black screen.  I see my mouse cursor, and I see the loading bar on the bottom, other then that, nothing.  I tried the "force window mode" trick I've seen on other posts and nothing.  Any new fixes? Thank you.  God Bless Everyone and Your Day!!!
