@G1lgam3shI understand. its not your fault. they gave you this impression with the title, as they named it after the rouge squadron series rather than the xwing or alliance titles. i mean they wanted to hark after the xwing vs tiefighter series and I feel they were trying to capture the attention of the starfighter and squadron players. If they just did a little better notoriety with the title and named it Alliance Assault there would not had been this confusion. Im sure there will be another rouge squadron starfighters game and it might come from nintendos end.
Yes it seems to be a hybrid of the old X-Wing games, and the Rogue Squadron titles. I am mostly fine with it though. You have control over your fighters power transfers etc. but you also have arcade mechanics that the Rogue Squadron titles offered.
I do miss being able to toggle my fire mode at the touch of a button, linked, single, or cross linked, or being able to toggle between ions and standard cannons but understand why they went the route they did.

i believe the only thing they really took from rouge squadrons was the name and better graphics, as squadrons also was planet atmosphere based. I would like to see how this game fares with such a platform. I understand physics is the big seller here and if they do go planet side i would like to see it called galaxy crews and be a total co op game wee you manage turrets as a crew aboard vanguard cruisers guarding flag ships. from fighters with ten to twenty on board each ship. this would take place in the old republic era in space and ground battles. thing is i doubt we will ever get a game with a mix of the rouge squadrons and alliance games, just one or the other do to the intensity of production these corporation have no faith in, even though they sell better than they should for what they put out.
