Star Wars Squadrons years later.

Four years later after the game is beyond dead i sit here and think to myself "how could this game had failed?" you guys had all the right stuff. decent graphics, a fun pvp system (fun to me at least) and an alright story mode..that i expected more missions to be added that were on planets as well as in space. Missions like from the rouge squadron games. even if you added them as dlc i was ready to buy it. and yet as soon as players were bringing these things to your attention you guys gave up and pulled the plug. i honestly want to know what you guys were thinking? oh a multiplayer focused flight sim would sell and do well? Ridiculous you guys should have known better than that. especially the audience you guys were trying to target..my audience that had been waiting for a new star wars flight sim with modern graphics, like me many bought a new up to date flight stick just for the game! and then micro transactions that didnt really give you anything, a short story mode that was basically just a tutorial. I do not know if it was EA or disney but i do not understand the problem with using ideas from old star wars titles and games. this game should have been gold if it was given just a little bit more love, but alas abandoned before it could actually reach light speed. oh im sure im going to get verbally attacked by people for talking about a dead game and so be it, im not worried about them..i simply wanted to say my piece and i have.

  • I've been Star wars universe since LucasArts X-wing [installed via floppy disks].  Then B wing expansion, Tie fighter, Then all those games for the mac, cuz that was then the most powerful setup in my house.....Was excited for this too... esp to play it in VR.....because,  dear god, it would have been so awesome.

I feel your pain.. I suppose the question would have been whether or not additional DLC would have been possible with their exclusive gaming rights contract ending [cuz new dlc would have been new additional licensing of the star wars universe...  But that didn't mean that they should have just abandoned a great game like that... And yes, regardless, micro transactions kill even the best things...

On the plus side, they don't have the exclusive contract anymore, and the clearly sh*t the bed with the follow through.  so whoever decides to make a new game knows what NOT to do.

May [patience, and] the force be with you in these trying times, brother.
