Starwars Force unleashed menu navigation

With this game becoming free on amazon prime I hope to see some people replaying it again. I downloaded it through amazon Games and started playing. I launched it the first time just fine able to navigate through the menu using my Alt + WASD keys. (60% keyboard so I dont have arrow keys) Then tried plugging in an xbox 1 controller to play and, of course, that didnt work as the game only allows xbox 360 controllers. after launching the game again for only the third time, I was unable to use my Alt + WASD keys to navigate the menu. cant use anything but the buttons it shows which are [, ], and Enter. Not sure how to fix this. Tried finding ways to use my mouse, but that doesnt show up in the menus either. Any ideas?
