Stutter and Freezes when playing - Denuvo related?

Love the game but get freezes and stutter during gameplay, heard this game has the denuvo drm, hope the publisher removes as soon as possible this so we can have smooth gameplay. I don't have a very fast setup but can play most games on mid-low settings and even setting the video configuration on low I get freezes during gameplay that destroy the experience. I have a laptop with a Intel Core i7-4710HQ and GeForce GTX 860M with 4GB of video ram and 16gb of system ram. Hope more people vouch for this so we can have the best possible performance without the Denuvo constant checks and stutters.

    Hello, @chbisio 

    Your laptop is on the low end of spec required for the game and age getting to it, seeing it’s a 6-year-old CPU/GPU. I assume you keep the laptop dust free also could be time for new thermal paste if haven't already changed it. To make sure there are no heating problems which is a common problem for laptop of age.


    What you can do also is, make sure that all drivers for windows are up to date. 

     

    You can also try to do a clean boot to see if there any programs messing with Star Wars: Squadrons and turn off any overlay programs for example Discord or Nvidia experience.

     

    Worth to reinstall the GPU drivers for your PC.

    Thanks Atic, great tips, I guess you cannot talk about the game protection since I had a hunch that it may relate to the stutters. Please raise my concern as a customer to the publisher as to in the immediate future they consider removing this game protection so the performance is not affected and we don't need to buy a new system to ensure great performance.
